November 2025 is going to be super exciting for auto enthusiasts as the homegrown carmakers –Tata and Mahindra – are ready to launch their new SUVs in the coming weeks. The iconic Tata Sierra will make its grand comeback on 25th November, while the all-new Mahindra XEV 9S 7-seater electric SUV will debut on 27th November. While the Sierra will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and other midsize SUVs in the segment, the XEV 9S will take on the BYD Atto 3 and Tata Harrier EV in terms of pricing.
Tata Sierra

The production-ready Sierra remains true to its concept design, while retaining the original squared-off front, thick B-pillars, rear windows and raised bonnet. Inside, the SUV will feature a triple screen setup, dual-tone dashboard, flat-bottom steering with an illuminated Tata logo and auto dimming IRVM. The latest teaser confirms that the SUV also offers a panoramic sunroof.
On the engine front, the Tata Sierra is likely to offer a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5L turbocharged petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer. The Sierra EV might borrow the 55kWh and 65kWh battery setups from the Harrier EV.
Mahindra XEV 9S

The Mahindra XEV 9S is likely to be the production-ready version of the XUV.e8 concept, which was first showcased on 15th August 2022. Spy images reveal that the electric SUV will share most of its design elements from the XEV 9e, while its overall silhouette closely resembles the XUV700. The teaser video confirms the presence of a panoramic sunroof, triangular LED headlamps, sleek LED DRLs and smoked effect taillamps.
Mahindra hasn’t yet revealed the official powertrain details of the XEV 9S. However, it’s expected to come with the 59kWh and 79kWh LFP battery pack options, sourced from the XEV 9e. The AWD configuration is likely to be reserved for the higher trims. The Mahindra XEV 9S’ range is expected to be over 500km on a full charge.
