Tata Sierra Price Expectations – New Petrol & Diesel Engine Specs


The 2025 Tata Sierra is just a couple of days away from its official launch, scheduled for 25th November. Initially, the SUV model lineup will be introduced with ICE (internal combustion engine) powertrains only. The lower petrol variants will come with the all-new 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, while the higher trims will use the new 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine. The turbo-petrol motor will deliver power worth 170PS and 280Nm of torque.

The diesel variants will be powered by the Curvv’s 1.5L engine, which will be tuned for generating power worth 118PS and 260Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) automatic. The Sierra will be offered with the FWD (front-wheel drive) system.

While the official prices of the 2025 Tata Sierra will be announced on 25th November, the SUV’s entry-level petrol-manual variant is likely to be priced around 11-12 lakh. Price of the top-end diesel automatic trim is expected to be around Rs 19-20 lakh (ex-showroom). If launched within this price range, the Sierra will give a tough fight to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and other midsize SUVs in the segment.

Interestingly, the Tata Sierra will be the brand’s first vehicle to feature a triple-screen setup, a dashboard integrated sound bar, extendable sun visors and auxiliary taillamps. Other key features include a 12-speaker JBL sound system, dual zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, a 360-degree camera, Isofix child seat mount, front and rear parking sensors, Level-2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) and more.

Tata Sierra EV Launch Timeline & Details

The electric iteration of the Sierra will arrive in early 2026. The SUV is expected to borrow powertrains from the Harrier EV. Apart from a few EV-specific design changes and software upgrades, the Sierra EV will be largely identical to its ICE counterpart. Once launched, it will face challenge from the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Maruti e Vitara.
