For many years now, we’ve been partnered with Binkies 3D to give you access to 3D models of smartphones that you can spin around, zoom in on and explore. But now foldable phones have complicated things a bit.
These phones are designed to be used in two configurations – folded and unfolded. Each has its pros and cons and they differ by the form factor. A flip foldable’s cover display may be just enough to answer a quick text, but it’s not great for general use. Meanwhile, book-style foldables have cover displays that are almost as big as the displays on regular phones and tablet-sized displays inside. And now there are wide foldables too.
Look for these icons: this is the close/open button
The likes of the iPhone Duo and Galaxy Z Fold8 will duke it out next month. To help you explore both, Binkies 3D added the option to open and close the virtual foldables as you are viewing them – complete with a sleek animation.

This works for flip foldables too. Unlike their bigger cousins, these don’t offer a tablet-sized display. What they do offer is great portability – when closed, the Galaxy Z Flip8 is not that much bigger than a credit card. Just hit the size button (next to the close/open button) to see it.
We’ve seen wide and flip foldables, so here is a book-style foldable for the sake of completeness – the Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
