The iPhone 18 Pro Max is the fastest-charging iPhone ever

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro Max will charge faster than any other iPhone ever. According to a new post by Ice Universe on X, the device goes from 0 to 50% charge in just 15 minutes. That is in fact what Apple claimed during the announcement.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max takes just 10 minutes to reach 34%, and reports 100% charge after 55 minutes. However, it only stops charging after 76 minutes. In our review of its predecessor, we noted that it reached 38% after 15 minutes, and displayed 100% after 72 minutes. It drew a peak of 35W, whereas the iPhone 18 Pro Max can apparently reach 52W.

Of course, this isn’t entirely surprising. The iPhone 18 Pro Max has a larger battery than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and it’s using a 2nm chip, which should be more efficient. It’s still nice to finally see Apple prioritizing charging speed after many years of, well, not doing so at all.

For what it’s worth, the Galaxy S26 Ultra reaches 51% after 15 minutes, but only needs 43 minutes to display 100%, so it’s still faster. Then again, it is charging a smaller battery than the iPhone.
