The Nintendo Switch 2 launched last year at $449.99 in the US, and from September 1 it’s getting $50 more expensive. It will thus be $499.99. The company says it’s doing this “in light of changes in market conditions”.
The Switch 2 is also getting CAD 50 more expensive in Canada and €40 more expensive in Europe. In Japan, the hike will go live much sooner, on May 25.

Interestingly, Nintendo is also forecasting a drop in Switch 2 sales over the next year, probably connected with the price hike. In the first full fiscal year since it went on sale, Nintendo sold 19.86 million Switch 2 units, which is more than the original managed in its first year (15.05 million units). In the coming year, Nintendo expects to sell just 16.5 million Switch 2 units.
