The Tata Tiago EV was first introduced in 2022 as the brand’s most affordable electric car and India’s first mass-market EV offering. Initially, the electric hatchback was offered with 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery pack options, claiming range of up to 315km. The Tiago EV, witnessed the first mild life update in 2025, is now ready to receive yet another facelift in the coming weeks. However, its official launch date and details are yet to be announced.
Larger Battery, Faster Charging
According to a fresh media report, the 2026 Tata Tiago EV is expected to come with a larger 30kWh battery pack, delivering a driving range of around 366km per charge. Earlier, the 19kWh and 24kWh battery packs were claimed to offer a range of 223km and 293km, respectively.
The report further states that the new battery will use prismatic cells, sourced from Gotion. Similar to the Tata Punch EV, the updated 30kWh battery Tiago EV will feature a new 6-in-1 i-drive motor. It’s expected to deliver power between 80 to 88PS and 140Nm of torque. The 2026 Tata Tiago EV will support fast DC charging above 50kW, which will help reducing its charging time.
