VinFast VF6 & VF7 Score 5 Stars in Bharat NCAP


The VinFast VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs have secured an impressive 5-star safety rating at the latest Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) crash tests. Both EVs performed exceptionally well and achieved 5-star safety rating for both adult and child occupant protection.

The VinFast VF6 scored 27.13 points out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection and 44.91 points out of a maximum 49 in Child Occupant Protection. Meanwhile, the VinFast VF7 secured 28.54 points out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection and 45.25 points out of 49 points in Child Occupant Protection.

In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the VinFast VF6 provided ‘Good’ protection to the driver’s and passenger’s head, neck and pelvic areas. However, protection for the driver’s chest area was rated ‘Weak’, while protection for the driver’s and passenger’s knees was rated ‘Adequate’. In the side movable barrier test, the VF6 scored 16 out of 16 points, while the side pole impact test result was rated ‘Ok’.

For child safety, the VF6 impressed by achieving 24 out of 24 points in the dynamic test and 12 out of 12 points in the CRS installation test. However, it received 10 points out of 13 in the vehicle assessment test. The child dummies were positioned rearward-facing in the rear outboard seats and secured using Isofix child anchorages.

VinFast VF7 Adult & Child Occupant Protection Results

In the frontal offset tests, the VinFast VF7 secured 12.54 out of 16 points and offered ‘Good’ protection to the driver’s and passenger’s head, neck and pelvic regions. However, protection for the driver’s and front passenger’s shins was rated ‘Adequate’, while the driver’s chest protection was rated ‘Weak’. The VF7 received 16 out of 16 points in the side movable deformable barrier test and ‘the side pole impact test was rated ‘Ok’.

In child occupant protection, the VF7 achieved 23.25 points out of 24 in dynamic test, 12 out of 12 points for CRS installation and 10 out of 13 points in vehicle assessment. Similar to the VF6, both the 18-month-old and the 3-year-old child dummies were placed rearward-facing in the rear outboard seats and secured using Isofix anchorages.
