Ahead of the official unveiling, vivo has been showcasing some of the new features and design changes coming to OriginOS 7.0 on Weibo.

The update will introduce a liquid glass-like user interface with improved animations and lighting effects. It will also bring new Liquid Themes for the lockscreen, a system-wide sticker library, Atomic Workbench for traditional candybar-style phones, and more.

OriginOS 7.0 will also feature improved memory management and an upgraded “unfair scheduling” algorithm, which vivo claims will enhance multitasking and animation performance.

The update will additionally introduce Storage Compression 2.0, a new technology that can free up to 20GB of additional storage on a device with 256GB of storage.

vivo also claims that OriginOS 7.0 will deliver a 14% improvement in graphics rendering, up to 12% faster app startup times, and a 19% improvement in page-switching response speeds.

The company also says the update can reduce power consumption by around 20% during UI animations and screen rendering.

vivo is expected to reveal more details about OriginOS 7.0 at the upcoming event, including device support and when the update will be publicly available.
