The rumor mill surrounding the vivo X500 series continues to gather pace, with a fresh leak hinting at a major camera upgrade. According to the new rumor, the vivo X500 Ultra may arrive with a telephoto camera capable of delivering longer zoom reach than the vivo X300 Ultra.
In a recent post on Weibo, tipster Smart Pikachu claimed that vivo is testing a 10x periscope telephoto camera for one of its upcoming flagship smartphones, which is likely to be the X500 Ultra.

The tipster further revealed that the entire vivo X500 series will support a new range of teleconverters and vlog cameras. Interestingly, a rumor had suggested that vivo was developing a dedicated vlogging camera to rival offerings from DJI.
A 10x periscope telephoto camera would be a major upgrade for vivo’s flagship Ultra phone. The company’s recent Ultra models have offered telephoto cameras with up to 3.7x optical zoom. The X300 Ultra relies on external teleconverter lenses to achieve longer zoom.
The move is also likely due to competition from Oppo, which offers a 10x zoom camera on its Find X9 Ultra.
