Volkswagen India has announced an aggressive product strategy for 2026, which includes five new product launches scheduled across every quarter of the year. The upcoming product intervention will be based on SUV, sedan and hatchback body styles, each catering to a different premium customer base. Additionally, the carmaker has revealed the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line through official images ahead of its market launch. It will be one of the first upcoming Volkswagen product launches planned for this year.

The VW Tayron R-Line is the brand’s flagship 7-seater SUV, packed with a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine generating power worth 204PS and 320Nm of torque. This is the same engine that previously powered the now-discontinued VW Tiguan R-Line. Power is delivered to all-four wheels (AWD) via a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

As a premium German offering, the Tayron R-Line comes loaded with several advanced amenities including a large 15-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, connected car tech, a Harman Kardon sound system, HUD (Head-Up Display), dual wireless phone chargers, three zone automatic AC, 30-colour ambient lighting, front row seats with a massage function and more.

On the safety front, the new VW 7-seater SUV offers protection of 9 airbags along with a 360 degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, disc brakes on all four wheels, electronic parking brake and ADAS (autonomous driver assistance system.
