2026 Maruti Fronx Facelift Spied – ADAS, Hybrid Tech & AWD Option?

Maruti Suzuki is extensively testing the new Fronx facelift, and frequent sightings of its test mules hints at an imminent launch. The latest spy images showcase a prototype with heavy camouflage concealing most of its design details. However, the new 2026 Maruti Fronx facelift is expected to receive a slightly updated front fascia, featuring a slightly redesigned grille, bumper and headlamps. It might also derive some design elements from the Victoris midsize SUV.

ADAS Suite As Major Upgrade

Official details are yet to be revealed. However, the new Maruti Fronx 2026 facelift is expected to come with a Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite. One of its previous test mules was equipped with a LIDAR (light detection and ranging) unit mounted on the rear bumper, which measures distances using rapid laser pulses and creates an accurate 3D model of the surroundings.

More Features

Maruti might also equip the new Fronx with features such as ventilated seats and a sunroof on higher trims along with new trims and upholstery options. The rest of the features will be carried over from the current model.

Maruti Fronx Hybrid Variant

While the official confirmation on the introduction of an all-new strong hybrid powertrain is still pending, the new 2026 Maruti Fronx facelift is expected to debut the brand’s in-house developed series hybrid technology. This hybrid powertrain will include a petrol engine and electric motors that directly power the wheels. The petrol motor will function as a generator to charge the battery pack.

Compared to conventional strong hybrid powertrains, Maruti Suzuki’s new hybrid tech is expected to be more efficient and cost-effective. The carmaker is likely to electrify its 1.2L Z12E naturally aspirated petrol engine, which could also power other mass-market offerings from the brand.

The new-generation Baleno and a new sub-4 metre MPV (based on the Suzuki Spacia), which are due for 2027, could be the next beneficiaries of Maruti Suzuki’s series hybrid powertrain.

AWD For Fronx?

Speculation is rife that the new Maruti Fronx 2026 facelift could also get AWD (all-wheel drive) system, as one of its test mules was spotted with additional hardware mounted on the rear axle.
