Back in May, Honor officially announced that it would be releasing the Robot Phone sometime during the third quarter of this year, so between July and September. Unfortunately, the company has not yet gone into more details.
However, a new rumor from China’s prolific leaker Digital Chat Station today narrows that timeframe down to a specific month: August. That is, according to him, when the Robot Phone will finally be launched.

The device was showcased at CES in January and then at MWC in Barcelona in early March, and since then Honor has been working on getting it from the concept stage to becoming an actual product you’ll be able to buy. Last month, the Robot Phone was used to film cinematic video portraits at the Shanghai International Film Festival.
As you may know, the Robot Phone has a gimbal camera, akin to the DJI Osmo Pocket line and Insta360’s new Luna. The gimbal retracts into the phone’s body, and supports both stabilization and object tracking.
