Ranchi: Five more miscreants were arrested for their alleged involvement in the Feb 4 Mesra firing case, police said.An unidentified gunman had fired in the air near Vikas Hospital, Mesra, around 5 pm on Feb 4 in order to extort money from a trader in the area, police said.SP (City) Paras Rana said, “Rahul Singh was arrested for attempted extortion on Feb 4. Aman Kumar Thakur (20) was arrested from his Kokar hideout and the weapon used in the firing was seized.”“During interrogation, accused Aman revealed the names of his four associates. They were allegedly involved in supplying the weapon and a two-wheeler besides keeping a tab on the car showroom owner. Acting on Aman’s information, Karan Kumar Oraon (25), Vishal Munda (24), Sentu Singh (21), and Ramanada Kumar (19) were arrested from Pancha village in Bundu,” SP Rana added.
