The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is moving closer to its first major midlife update cycle. While the official launch timeline is yet to be announced, the new Maruti Fronx facelift is expected to debut in 2027. The updated model is currently undergoing extensive testing and frequent sightings of test mules have revealed several key details.

ADAS & More Features
One of the spotted test prototypes was seen equipped with ADAS calibration equipment and a LIDAR (light detection and ranging) unit integrated into the rear bumper, hinting at the inclusion of an ADAS suite. If offered, the ADAS package is likely to offer safety features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, high beam assist and more.

To further enhance its value proposition, Maruti Suzuki might equip the new Fronx with a sunroof and ventilated front seats along with new seat upholstery and trims. Several features from the current model will be retained including Head-up display (HUD), cruise control, a 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, Suzuki connected car features, height adjustable driver’s seat, wireless charger and more.
2027 Maruti Fronx Hybrid Launch On Cards
Another major upgrade will be the introduction of a strong hybrid powertrain, developed in-house by Maruti Suzuki for its mass-market vehicles. Codenamed HEV, this series hybrid powertrain is said to be significantly more cost effective and efficient than Toyota Atkinson strong hybrid system that currently used in the Maruti Grand Vitara and Invicto.
According to reports, the new Maruti Fronx hybrid will deliver a fuel efficiency of 35kmpl+. If these claims prove accurate, the compact crossover could become the most fuel efficient vehicle in the country.
The existing 1.0L turbo petrol Boosterjet and 1.2L, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engines might also be carried forward. While the new strong hybrid powertrain could be reserved for the higher trims, the existing petrol engines might continue to power the lower and mid-spec variants.
2027 Maruti Fronx Design
The new Maruti Fronx facelift is likely to witness minimal design changes such as a slightly revised grille, redesigned bumpers, updated LED taillamps and newly-designed alloy wheels. Maruti Suzuki might introduce new exterior colours and cabin theme options with the updated Fronx lineup.
