Renault recently announced its FutuREady mid-term strategy, which includes 7 new models and 2 new platforms for the Indian market. While the carmaker has remained tight-lipped about details of the upcoming products, the lineup will include the Duster hybrid, 7-seater Duster and Bridger rugged SUV, as confirmed earlier.
Unveiled in March 2026, the Renault Bridger concept previews the brand’s upcoming compact SUV slated to arrive by the end of 2027. The Bridger will be Renault’s one of the new models to underpin RGMP platform, which is compatible with multiple powertrains including electric, hybrid, CNG and ICE. While the engine details are still under the wraps, Renault has confirmed that the compact SUV will offer “class-leading efficiency.”

Turbo Petrol Power
The carmaker has confirmed that the production-ready Renault Bridger will feature a 1.2L, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, producing a maximum power of 115bhp and 190Nm of torque. Transmission choices are expected to incldue a manual unit.
Expected Electric Powertrain
The Bridger will also be offered with an electric powertrain, likely at a later stage. The carmaker might use a battery pack of around 40kWh for the compact SUV, delivering a range of approximately 500km per charge. The EV is likely to feature regenerative braking and V2L (vehicle-to-load) functionality and both AC and DC fast charging capabilities.
Design Highlights
The design and styling of the Renault Bridger are completely different from other Renault models currently on sale in India. It has boxy and upright stance, and appears rugged and muscular. The production-ready version is expected to stay largely true to its concept, which features a large blacked-our grille, blacked-out bonnet, wide air dams, LED lights with illuminated ‘RENAULT’ badging and a muscular skid plate at the front end.
Styling elements such as 18-inch square-spoke alloy wheels, squarish fenders and wheel arch cladding, and C-pillar integrated rear door handles enhance its side profile. At the rear, the Bridger features sharply designed LED taillamps, tailgate-mounted spare wheel and a bumper integrated skid plate.
