Skoda Kylaq To Get 3 BIG Upgrades – Here’s What’s Coming

Launched on late 2024, the Skoda Kylaq sub-4 metre SUV has proven to be a trumph card for the Czech automaker in India. Favoured for its strong value proposition, safety and ride quality, the model achieved 50,000 cumulative sales in just over one year, recording its highest-ever monthly sales of 7,422 units in March 2025. Recently, the carmaker expanded the Kylaq lineup with new Classic+ and Prestige+ trims.

Skoda Auto India has also confirmed the Kylaq Sportline variant, which is slated to arrive by September 2026. Interestingly, the company is exploring alternate fuel options including the Kylaq CNG. Furthermore, the subcompact SUV might also receive a new 8-speed automatic gearbox this year. The same transmission was recently introduced in the updated Kushaq.

Skoda Kylaq Sportline

As the name suggests, the Kylaq Sportline will feature sporty design elements over the regular model. This new variant will come with blacked-out trims and alloy wheels along with a dual-tone roof with an electric anti-pinch sunroof and smoked taillamps. No mechanical changes are expected. The Sportline trim is likely to use the same 114bhp/178Nm 1.0L turbo petrol engine, paired with manual or automatic gearbox.

Skoda Kylaq CNG

The Kylaq CNG is currently under consideration. Speculations suggest that Skoda might offer the CNG as dealer-level retrofit kit option, likely reserved for manual variants. The CNG version is expected to deliver a mileage of around 25-30 km/kg.

The next big upgrade might come in the form of an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This transmission, recently introduced in Kushaq facelift, is likely to enhance its overall performance.
