Sony has scheduled a live event for tomorrow, May 19 at 4PM UTC, dedicated to its upcoming flagship WH-1000X headphones series. The previous generation WH-1000XM6 launched about a year ago, but this is not going to be a direct successor.
Rumors so far indicate that the new headphones will actually be more premium, meaning they won’t replace the XM6 but will exist alongside them.
The reports claim a price tag of $649, which is a tad more expensive than your usual WH-1000X headphones and a new leather design. We will likely see a new name for the upcoming headphones dubbed ColleXion.
Of course, aside from the updated design, the ColleXion will likely introduce a new set of premium features and better hardware. After all, Sony is very keen on these new headphones and it’s no accident it’s dedicated a whole event to its new flagship headphones lineup.
