The fans have spoken – the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE isn’t it. It could be, but the results from last week’s poll make it very clear that the S26 FE train isn’t leaving the station without a tangible price drop.
As things stand right now, people are gravitating towards other Galaxy models – the Galaxy S25 FE and S26+ in particular offer similar specs at better value-for-money – or they are exploring alternatives outside of Samsung.
People in the comments remembered the Galaxy S20 FE with nostalgia – now that was a good FE model. So good, in fact, that it got re-released two years later. We don’t think that the S26 FE will be getting such an encore.
The downgrades on the Galaxy S26 FE from the S25 FE were received poorly – especially in the light of the price hike from last year. $700 / £700 / €800 for a phone with a USB 2.0 port just rubs people the wrong way. A premium Galaxy S model should come with premium features like DeX. However, without video out over USB-C, the FE misses out.
Worse, the S26 FE has little to push it over the S25 FE – the Exynos 2500 chipset is really the only serious upgrade. And with a bit of shopping and patience, you can find a Galaxy S26+ at a similar price – this one gets you the newer Exynos 2600 if you are in Europe and India or the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy if you are in North America, for example.
